Activators
Activators support the summit with $2,000-3,000 USD that provides funding for twenty summit grants and/or can contribute to the Compear Professional Development Fund. This fund supports underrepresented International Education professionals' career goals.
The Institute for the International Education of Students (“IES Abroad”) represents a consortium of more than 170 U.S. colleges and universities. A not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization, IES Abroad has an all-volunteer Board of Directors and an extensive academic governance system that includes 4 committees featuring democratic representation from the IES Abroad Consortium. Additionally, IES Abroad is overseen by 8 extra-governmental organizations in specific countries where IES Abroad programs exist. Since its founding in 1950, over 65,000 students have participated in IES Abroad international study abroad programs. IES Abroad operates 75 programs at more than 30 locations in Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, Australia and New Zealand. With over 5,000 students enrolled in IES Abroad programs each year, IES Abroad is the largest study abroad provider in the United States and an innovative leader in the study abroad field.
Enterprise Ireland manages the Education in Ireland national brand under the authority of the Minister of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation & Science. Enterprise Ireland is responsible for the promotion of Irish Higher Education Institutions overseas.
Enterprise Ireland is the Irish state agency responsible for supporting the development of manufacturing and internationally traded services companies. Enterprise Ireland provides funding and supports for companies – from entrepreneurs with plans for a high potential start-up through to large companies expanding their activities, improving efficiency and growing export sales. We also provide funding and supports for college based researchers to assist in the development, protection and transfer of technologies into industry via licensing or spin-out companies..

Study in Portugal Network (SiPN) is a specialized study abroad provider based in Lisbon, Portugal. As a multi-university consortium of Portuguese universities, SiPN aims to attract U.S. students and faculty to Portugal through a variety of study abroad experiences. SiPN’s tremendous value is only made possible being housed within the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD), a private Portuguese non-profit grant-making Foundation, dedicated to funding initiatives to promote scientific and cultural exchanges between Portugal and the United States. FLAD firmly believes in the mission of fostering transnational understanding through the academic exchange of faculty and students.
Study Abroad Association (SAA) is dedicated to creating transformative and accessible global education experiences for students and institutions. Specializing in custom faculty-led programs, SAA collaborates closely with colleges and universities to design unique, culturally immersive opportunities that align with academic goals and learning outcomes. Their focus on safety, affordability, and inclusivity ensures impactful experiences for diverse student populations.
The mission of the Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) is to provide scholarships and ongoing support to students who are underrepresented among the U.S. study abroad population. FEA makes life-changing, international experiences accessible to all by supporting students of color, community college, and first-generation college students before, during, and after they participate in education abroad programs.
Inspired by personal experiences as classmates in Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Hilltop Global Group was founded by Phil Agbeko from Ghana, and Osa Imohe from Nigeria. The Founders seek to bridge the gap in study abroad experiences and opportunities focused on the African continent. Hilltop’s mission and operational philosophy is to “Shape the African Narrative through Experiential Learning”.

The GREEN Program (TGP) is an award-winning, experiential education program focused on our world’s most pressing issues in sustainable development. TGP’s mission is to educate and empower future sustainability leaders through experiential education, responsible travel, and adventure. By using the world as our classroom, and aligning with the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our program model expertly balances sustainability-focused course work, exclusive industry exposure, and bucket-list adventures in just 10 days.
Study Abroad 4711 is a study abroad provider that offers journeys for those interested in international travel and lifelong learners passionate about global education. As a JEDI advocate, we believe that all students should have affordable options to study abroad. The International HBCU Xchange (iHBCUx) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the presence of students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in international exchange programs. By providing knowledge and awareness about government-funded international exchange opportunities, iHBCUx aims to expose and prepare HBCU students for life-changing global experiences.
Celei is an international educational organization with over 40 years of experience in designing and implementing study abroad programs. They focus on promoting regenerative cultures through multidisciplinary approaches. Their programs aim to cultivate critical thinking, global perspectives, and emotional education on environmental regeneration, interculturality, social justice, and cultural heritage. Celei’s immersive programs encourage experiential learning, critical debates, and group reflections, helping students develop intercultural competencies and sustainable travel skills.
Study Elsewhere was founded by Tyler Janeé Ward, an educator and travel advocate passionate about making study abroad more accessible for underrepresented students. Inspired by her own experiences studying abroad and teaching internationally, she launched the nonprofit to bridge gaps in global education, particularly for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
With a mission to increase diversity in international programs, Study Elsewhere provides resources, scholarships, and support to empower students from all backgrounds to explore the world while earning academic credit.
Aventurine Global, founded by Ebony Ellis, is dedicated to fostering intercultural awareness and equity in international education. With over 16 years of experience, Ebony has worked across academia and government, shaping transformative global learning experiences. Her passion for storytelling, social justice, and collaborative engagement drives Aventurine’s mission to create inclusive and impactful programs.

Teens of Color Abroad (TOCA) creates language learning and cultural exchange experiences for high school students of color. Founded by Brooklyn-based educator Lamar Shambley in 2018, TOCA has sponsored new passports for 20 students, served over 1,000 youth across the U.S., and provided more than $100,000 in scholarships.
Ashley Fluellen empowers creative leaders to resist perfectionism by tapping into their creativity. She partners with organizations to host arts-focused professional development workshops, helping teams find joy and authenticity in the creative journey. Her goal through this work is to inspire others to move beyond the pursuit of finding the ‘right answer’ and instead embrace the fun, messiness, and authenticity of engaging in a creative practice.
The Wells International Foundation (WIF) is a U. S. non-profit organization whose mission is to empower women, children and youth, and persons of African descent to realize their highest potential through arts, literacy, study abroad, and other educational and cultural programs. We are building a network of global citizens who embrace inclusiveness and foster a spirit of cooperation throughout the world.

Walk With TFB, founded by Tim Bryson, is a Black-owned consulting firm dedicated to advancing international athlete development, institutional internationalization strategy, and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) education. With a background as an NCAA athlete, sport diplomat, and international education researcher, Tim brings a wealth of expertise to his work, helping athletes and organizations navigate the evolving global sports landscape. Through consulting and his “Walk With TFB” podcast, he empowers individuals to embrace opportunities at the intersection of sports, education, and international engagement.
